Has anyone updated their emergency plan in accordance to the revised AC 150/5200-31C. I am having to rewrite ours and would rather have a template or a copy to use. If anyone has something that could help me “please” email me (gbarentine@cityhs.net)

Thanks you

-Glen-

gbarentine, the linp you have for the AEP template is broken, at least for me.

Genebolanows, you mention an online template.  Can you point me at the location?

I have not received my back yet, but from talking to them it will be coming back. I didn't reference page number to the check list. From what I have heard that if you didn't COMPLETELY fill out the checklist and reference every line to a page in your AEP, they will return it before they look any further. By the time I get it back I will have to have a re-write.

Is anyone in SW Region experiencing an extreamly long delay between plan submission and plan approval or revision request?  I know we sent ours out in March, and it is now November, with no word from the cert inspectors.  Just was wondering if anyone had any timeframes their plans took to be approved?

the reason for the rewrite? NIMS compliance. It seems the FAA is trying to standardize everything, whether it be with FEMA/DHS or ICAO standards.

Our CERT inspectors showed up Monday. The out brief is today at 1500. Our AEP has been approved again. The Northwest Mountain region has asked me to speak at their annual conference on Monday the 11th. I will be speaking about how to assemble a 31C compliant AEP.

Ours is at our cert inspector. The template that was online was a godsend for those of us tasked with the rewritting of the plans, but one has to wonder just why the FAA is spending the time to make all the airports redo their plans, when there are a lot of other prolbems that need their focus?

Ours has been compliant for two years.

What is the specific issue? content, format, NIMS compliance, ?????

Ours has been submitted... been a few weeks, guess that's a good sign?
I found a draft on the linkedin website, in the airport operations group that we used as the baseline for writting our plan. The AC is nice, but not all airports are going to have the multitude of departments or the manpower to make the AEP as presented in the AC work. Also, it helps when the County Fire Marshall is also the Airport ARFF chief and the head of the LEOs.
The best 31C-compliant AEP, signed by the FAA, and (I understand) used by SW Region to create a template is SAT's AEP. They are sharing it with other airports, and a number of airports have used it to create their own revised AEPs.

I have uploaded the sample AEP just follow the link: AEP SAMPLE

I have a copy of a template for the AEP for Class I airports. I will try to up load them but if anyone wants them emailed directly, email me at gbarentine@myairportoperations.com and I will forward to you what I have received from the FAA.

Glen

I have just sent a DRAFT of the AEP to the FAA inspector with a note that it is also being reviewed at this time by the Army airfield manager with whom we share the airport. My goal is to get both review comments back and create one final version. I'd be glad to send the DRAFT, which could work as a template.

Steve

no template here either... just good ol fashioned writing :(

No the South West Region hasn't got one to us, if you have one can you email it to me? Gbarentine@myairportoperations.com I'll post here with the other items I have got.

Thanks

Have you received a template as of today? I noticed the last comment was from May 25th. The central region has one available to use.

Please send me the Check List, I'll get David to post it on here. gbarentine@myairportoperations.com

I am in AZ. KFHU is Libby Army Airfield / Sierra Vista Municipal Airport.  This is the website: http://www.ci.sierra-vista.az.us/cms1//index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=19&Itemid=1124  Nice place, 08/26 is 12,001 feet.

We don't have an FBO, the City sells fuel to local pilots, the US Forestry Service, and Fort Huachuca for their UAS missions. I've made arrangements for my Ops Supervisor to take the Fuel Certification Course through ACE on-line.

I've got the Airport Certification / Safety Inspection Check List provided by the FAA Inspector in a PDF format if anyone wants it.  My observation is that this is exactly what the inspector wants to see, nothing less, nothing more. Same is true with the AEP, each section of the FAA provided outline must be addressed. Even if it only states “These services provided by U. S. Army / Fort Huachuca Fire Department”.

Steve,

Are you in CA or AZ?  If you are in CA The ARFF guys at BUR teach an FAA approved course.  You can contact Captain Marc Domingo at 818-562-6699 or mdomingo@bur.org.
