Good Afternoon Everyone,

Does anyone currently use the AirOps software system or anything similar for airfield condition reporting/airfield inspections?  From what I have found on the Eagle Integrated Solutions website, the system would be installed on a laptop or other portable device that we would keep with us in the truck during Airfield Inspections.  We are currently researching the system to find out if it would work for us here at GPT.  Any insight you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

To clarify any misconceptions out there, Eagle AIROps is a comprehensive solution with software components for the field and at the desk.  AIROps is tailored to individual airport's needs and allows to conduct inspections (Part 139, Bird and Wildlife, Fuel, Daily Log, just to name a few) using GPS/GIS driven interface, generate work orders, NOTAMS, and to be used for SMS needs.  AIROps has a work order management componet and is capable to be intigrated with a multitude of CMMS and advanced work order management systems.

Please visit www.team-eagle.ca/software/ and feel free to contact me if I can answer any questions.

We use a custome made application, buolt by myself.  www.openairport.org

Hello my name is Pete Gonzales am a Supervisor at San Antonio International. SAT airport has been using Air-Ops for our FAR Part 139 inspections. We have Tough books in our vehicles with the program installed. It is a very helpful component. If you would like more information on how SAT uses the software please email me at pete.gonzales@sanantonio.gov

I'm also interested in AirOps, especially if it will easily integrate SMS requirements if/when they ever come out.  We currently use an Access database developed in-house by my colleague.  It works pretty well, but as he is not a professional software developer, and none of the rest of us know much about it, it is a bit of a single-point failure.  Additionally, we can't integrate it with our maintenance work order system - something our inspector is really pushing for.  Supposedly, AirOps WILL integrate with the other system (Maintenance Connection.)

"You know how you make a small fortune in aviation? Start with a large one... I would like to see someone make an Ipad app that includes all the inspections, generates work orders and issues NOTAMs. And yes I still hope for world peace and that my wife would let me watch football with out interruptions.

Frankly I don't see a lot of value in the Eagle software. Most of the functionality you can create yourself in a Access database. My airport implemented an asset management system as part of a city-wide inititive last year. For the airport it was very much a square peg/round hole situation. The software is designed for public works and municipal utilities with preconfigured modules for sewers, traffic lights, etc. Airport ops was not part of the package. However, once configured, (a process that took about 9 months of my life) it has worked pretty well for us. It's particularly useful in tracking labor costs and inventory but it is not a tool for daily inspections. My dream application would be one staff could take into the field, conduct inspections, generate work orders and NOTAMS from the inspection findings and then intigrate with an asset management system that tracks time and costs for repair and maintenance. I have yet to see airport specific sofware that does all that. Perhaps that's how I can make my small fortune in aviation.
we tested it a few years ago, but never implemented it. We had Compaq or HP PDA's.
