I manage a non-towered GA Airport located in Florida. I have recieved feedback from a pilot saying that the Airport should open a NOTAM for equipment and personnel in the vicinity of the runway or taxiway each time we mow. Is this something that other Airports do? I have called a few and they currently do not issue NOTAMS when they mow next to a runway/taxiway. All of our equipment has amber lightbars on them and staff wear orange reflective vests. Any feedback would be great.

As an AO (Aircraft Operator = Airline), we generally find this item in an International NOTAM as irksome, because we regard it as irrelevant to runway operations. For your info, Karachi (Pakistan) airport, among others, always publish this kind of NOTAM.
I hope you find this informative.
Best Regards

Thank you for all of the feedback. Staff have already been using the new terms as indicated by our inspector during our recent Airport Inspection.
Yeah I was wondering what the status of that was. Can we not use "WIP" for "Work In Progress?" I've seen that before on NOTAMs that the FAA issued.
Please be advised that the term PAEW is being phased out by the FAA and they will be replacing it with the term "work in progress" as per a change to FAA N JO 7930.94. You may want to revise your AFDs if you currently use the term PAEW. The link with examples is below.

I would definitely issue a NOTAM and the AFD entry couldn't hurt, if for nothing else than to CYA. To keep you from having to issue a NOTAM every week, you could maybe issue one UFN, similar to what the AFD entry would read that mikeyg suggested.
You already have amber beacons but I would also be sure to at least have handheld radios in/on all of the mowers and instruct the operators on how to use them that way they can exit the SA for arriving/departing aircraft as mcwops said.
Actually there are a coupleof things you can do, one is you can submitt an entry on your 5010 to be published in the Airport Facilities Directy that states when mowing operations occur, example would be "mowing operations ongoing during the months April thru September" orwhatever months this occurs or just issue a PAEW NOTAM. I always close Runways for mowing since the Runway Safety area has to be clear during aircraft OPS and issue PAEW NOTAMs for taxiways.
You may also want to have something published in the AFD for mowing on the airfield.
We are a non towered 139 airport. I have seen NOTAMs that simply state RWY # PAEW ADJ to indicate mowing activity. Here, all of our equipment is equipped with beacons and radios, and we clear the safety areas if there are aircraft needing to use the surface.
